Spiral Retaining Rings
Arcon Ring is a distributor of the Spirolox and Smalley retaining ring. Our spiral retaining ring selection includes carbon spring steel and stainless steel varieties. We carry both spiral external retaining rings and spiral internal retaining rings ranging from Light to Heavy Duty. All of our Spirolox and Smalley retaining rings can be customized to suit your specific application requirements.
Both Spirolox and Smalley retaining rings are easy to install and remove, and offer a no-gap 360° retaining surface. They are circular grain, have no burrs and are created with a uniform cross-section, so they do not interfere with mating components or inhibit assembly processes. Spirolox and Smalley (spiral) retaining rings are manufactured by flat wire coiling. They are also interchangeable with any of the snap rings Arcon Ring offers.
Our spiral retaining rings are most commonly used in industrial, medical, oil and gas, aerospace, and military related industries. Our spiral retaining rings (Smalley and Spirolox) are ideal for use in actuator valves, air nozzles, pneumatic clutches, gear assembly, hip replacements and much more.
Spirolox and Smalley retaining rings for light duty applications are ideal for light thrust loads, axial positioning and low-clearance applications.
Our medium duty spiral retaining rings handle light to medium thrust loads.
Our medium heavy duty spiral retaining rings are easy to install and are capable of handling medium to heavy loads.
Heavy duty Spirolox and Smalley retaining rings are one of the strongest in the industry. They’re ideal for thrust loads requiring deep groove and heavy capacities. These spiral retaining rings are interchangeable with most stamped retaining rings.
As a leading industrial retaining ring company, Arcon Ring also enables you to create your own custom retaining ring design in a variety of retaining ring materials, sizes, thicknesses, finishes, etc.
